As a designer/maker I work with variety of materials and processes. I am based in Canberra since 1992 and exhibit my work nationally and internationally. I hold qualifications from the Australian National University and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste Nürnberg, Germany.

My awards include the coveted Bayerischer Staatspreis: Meister der Moderne (2002), Germany and a national teaching award for his contribution to university teaching, a Carrick Citation (2007). Combing new ways of fabrication with traditional ways of making leads me to new objects. These objects are one-off finished objects or prototypes to be produced in small-scale manufacture.

I currently focus on two lines of work: folded forms and bespoke light objects. The lights explore LED light sources and include a variety of digitally fabricated elements.
The folded vessels explore how a 2d based pattern can reach into 3d space to form utilitarian objects. Read Less
