Milica Golubovic, born in Kotor, Montenegro, is a visual artist and illustrator. She holds BA degree in Graphic design and MA degree in Illustration and Book design.

In her personal work, by applying a poetic and often metaphorical language, she aims to create compositions or settings that generate tranquil poetic images. By contesting the division between the realm of memory and the realm of experience, she tries to create works in which the actual event still has to take place or just has ended: moments evocative of atmosphere and suspense that are not part of a narrative thread. Her ideas come from an urge to capture an atmosphere, (un/pleasant) feelings or a warmness which cannot be described solely by words. Occasionally she captures that in poetry, which she finds the most similar to visual art. Visually she is inspired by nature, sea and dreams.

She is interested in a feeling all of us can feel sometimes - a spark in ourselves, which comes like a smudge, a reflection or a thunder bolt made of picture, scent, touch or a memory. It is sometimes a memory which is yet to happen. It comes with a feeling like there is a horizon somewhere, a line which connects the elements. On that road of introspection we shrink, feel smaller and weak and at the same time as big and strong as we could be. Her works appear as dreamlike images in which fiction and reality meet, well-known tropes merge, meanings shift, past and present fuse. She explores man's relationship to itself, to the environment, to what's behind and whats up front. She tries to examine where is the boundary between outside and inside, where is the crossing point at which the two realities blend into each other.
