Martina Vacheva lives and works in Plovdiv and Bretagne, West France. She graduated from the National Academy of Arts in Sofia, majoring in Illustration and Book and Print Graphics, in 2012 she specialized in the illustrator’s class of Georg Barber (ATAK) at the University of Design and Fine Arts, Burg Gibbenstein in Halle, Germany. Martina Vacheva is part of the Bulgarian fanzine culture. She is the author of zines such as KOSH, Star Wars, and three editions of the series SERIAL PORTRAITS presented in solo exhibitions at Artnewscafe, Plovdiv. She has participated in fanzine festivals such as Hip Hip Zine Fair, Bulgaria in 2015 and International Zine Fest, Istanbul in 2014, as well as events in Romania, France, etc. In 2016, SARIEV Contemporary presented her solo show Sereality with curator Vera Mlechevska as part of the project of the gallery BACKGROUND: Young Artists 2016.
