My first love is drawing and try to apply my skills to as many different disciplines as I can whether that be illustration, painting or textile design.

My work is predominantly but not exclusively flora and fauna inspired heavy featuring vivid, vibrant inks in bold colours.

I am a Glasgow based illustrator and designer whose first love is drawing, my work bridges the gap between textile design and illustration drawing inspiration from nature particularly the inherent beauty in flora and fauna. I have developed my own identity through the use of pen, ink and watercolour. My background in textile design is very much connected to my work and I enjoy celebrating the extraordinary diversity of nature. By gaining a BDes (Hons) in Textile Design I have honed my visual and practical skills by exploring a diverse range of materials. I have extensive experience and an in depth technical, sensory and aesthetic knowledge of colour, structure, pattern and texture.

* Design and produce my own collection of accessories (both fashion and home) from silk scarves to Giclée prints, porcelain and cushions.
* I set out to build my own small business in order to fulfill my desire to draw, paint and design, fuelled by a passion for nature. During this period I have been fortunate enough to be supported by the Prince’s Trust and the charity RetailTRUST.

* My accessories (both home and fashion) stocked by the prestigious Royal Edinburgh Botanic Gardens Edinburgh.

* I have designed prints in a freelance capacity for UK based textile design studios (which have been purchased by both British and international buyers)

* Worked with large corporate clients such as Lewis Moberly; head hunted and commissioned as an illustrator for an iconic international drinks company.

* Enjoyed press coverage in recognition of my designs by the likes of The Glasgow Herald.

* Published by The Association of Illustrators in their annual hardback ‘Images 35 – Best of British Illustration’.

* Awarded ‘Employee of The Month’ on numerous occasions by my employer Taylor McKenzie Research & Marketing.

* Currently working with Good Wives and Warriors for Penguin Books illustrating their Alice & Wonderland adult colouring-in book.

* Stocked by independent boutiques, galleries and shops across Scotland.

* Expanded my online presence through my website, British design blogs and on social media.

* Extensive CAD expertise especially regarding Adobe Photoshop.

* Adhere to specific client briefs, working within allocated timescales and budgets.

* Media monitoring & press releases; liaising with journalists and editors.

Illustrations are created by hand drawing in pencil and fine liner pen and then finished in watercolour and Indian ink. My illustrations are influenced by natural and botanical subject matters.
