The recently released Hestan Cue Smart Cooking System is a revolutionary hardware/software system that is going to drastically change the way people cook in their home. A sensor-enabled induction burner and sauté pan seamlessly integrate with the Hestan Cue app, which is filled with inspiring meal suggestions and chef-tested recipes with step-by-step instructions and how-to videos. Together, they give you the ability to cook perfect meals every day.

We're looking for a talented product designer to complement our small but tenacious engineering, culinary and marketing teams. We have a very unique setup and an amazing opportunity to change the way ordinary people cook.  Must be able to work in our Napa office.

What You'll Be Doing:

Working with chefs from the French Laundry and other top restaurants to design effective cooking experiences for home chefs  (and yes, taste-testing is part of the job)

Creating a new cooking paradigm which will lead users through an entire recipe from prep to plating

App Design:

Working on tough UX problems that come with paring mobile apps to hardware devices

Creating delightful and engaging user experiences that address business, brand, market, and user requirements

Owning the entire design process, from initial storyboarding to pushing final pixels and everything in between

Marketing and Brand Design:

Creative development ranging from initial ideation and concepting to actual production of constantly varying assets.

Design support for ongoing national advertising campaigns including print ads, online display ads, infographics, event signage, marketing collateral, etc.

Collaborate with outside vendors including ad agencies, web developers, and independent marketing contractors.

What we're looking for:

Killer portfolio, including (shipped!) mobile work and brand design

A love of food & cooking

Expert level skills in Adobe creative suite and/or Sketch. Familiarity with other design tools such as invision is an added bonus.

Mobile design experience is a must. We'll be transitioning to web work eventually, so experience there is highly desired.

Expert level understanding of interaction design and information architecture

Understanding of technical challenges and how to communicate with engineers

Proven experience collaborating with internal and external marketing teams

Experience within CPG’s is highly desired, but not required
