My Name Is James Salt. I am a Student at Birmingham City University Studying a (BA) Hons Visual Communication course completed in Illustration, I have Cultivated my style over the last few years experimenting with all sorts of different materials to find one which gives me that imagination to page elevation. I tend as of present to work most fluently with fine-liner and my work has adopted a pointillist style. I have inspired through many talented individuals whom I have sourced on Behance and whilst I have been studying have adapted a great sense of inspiration from this.
In terms of where I wish to take my art I have a few areas within the Illustration spectrum in which I can advocate myself most potentially. Character Design , Landscape & City Concept Art , General Conceptualizations, Clothing Brand , Screen printing , Tattoo Design , Mural Designs. I generally adore the processes of drawing especially if you can apply yourself to a certain subject matter with your own personal flavor. I Am always open to Commissioned work and any Ideas that can be communicated through illustrative discipline. Also Whilst I have been studying I have become accustom to working in collaborative projects
so any collaborations and maybe even New body's to hop on board with a Diverse clothing brand concept I am greatly open to working with new people to push new Ideas.
Generally as a person I am very inspired by everything i see around me and how we as a species have created all that we behold. This is why i like to work on many different subject matters so that I can tackle them and project a strong and binding moral behind them. I am very interested in ideas of yogic and other far-eastern cultures concerning chakras and self inflicted enlightenment. So there is a lot of spiritual manner to a lot of my drawings as I feel they communicate most with our percepted being and how art can alter this. I am also interested in mythological and elements from conspiracy theories which can be extroverted and satire but also embellished and praised upon depending on your viewpoint. My ideas always have to have some sort of intellectual stimuli to keep me progressing as a human being but also need to have a beautiful intrinsic aesthetic. I like to incorporate a lot of symmetry and astral and geometric elements. I have also used elements of Alchemic Symbolism before.
