Furniture executive by day, furniture designer by night. I am Vice President of our family’s furniture company, Phillips Collection, which was founded in New York over 35 years ago. In 2001, we moved the company headquarters to High Point, North Carolina.
I studied fine art throughout my childhood, taking intensive extracurricular classes in sculpture, figure drawing and oil painting. I attended The University of Michigan where I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BFA in Industrial Design in 2005. During those years, I developed technical skills in graphic design and 3D modeling. This, paired with my background in fine art and world travel with the family business, helped me form my own brand, Jason Phillips Design, which serves as a conduit for my furniture design concepts. While my attention is fully-invested in Phillips Collection, I still find time to explore my creative passion.
Phillips Collection is a design leader in the furniture industry and working with such a progressive company has afforded me opportunities and experience I wouldn’t have received otherwise. My father, Mark Phillips, is a visionary and industry icon. My mother, Julie Phillips, has a Masters in Architecture and can visual spaces with a discipline that amazes me. Through these unique perspectives, I’ve been able to study these great role models to push myself to the best of my abilities. I’m honored to have received some of the top industry awards, including multiple Pinnacle and ADEX Awards, as well as a four-time recipient of the coveted ARTS Award for Top Product Designer.
It has been rewarding to watch our company grow and we feel the respect from our industry peers. With our company’s success, we are now in a position to give back, and we do so on both a local and an international level. I’ve sat on numerous industry boards in various capacities. I was President of the American Society of Furniture Designers where we focused on developing a program for the next generation of high school and college students. I sit on the board of the Bienenstock Furniture Library where I focus on finance and sit on the board of The Enrichment Center, developing on their marketing and exhibition programs. From projects with the City of High Point to tree-plantings in Northern Thailand, we want to give back to the community and industry that has supported us all these years.

We are excited at what the future holds for Phillips Collection and will keep our promise to bring fresh designs with a social responsibility to our clients around the world. Read Less
