Oscar was born in Mexico City in 1976. He dedicates his life to three things: literature, mathematics and visual arts. While studying philosophy, in 1999, Oscar discovered his passion for writing as well as photography. In Mexico, he was active in the Club Fotográfico de México for several years.
In 2003, he received a scholarship granted by the DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst) to do his doctorate in mathematics.
He has regularly exhibited his artworks in Germany since 2009. Oscar was the co-founder of the ‚Clowns & Pferde’ gallery as well as the artistic director of the Ikosaeder gallery, both located in Essen.
His works are in private collections in New York, Mexico City, Frankfurt, and several other German cities, as well as the collection of the Kunstmuseum Bochum.
In 2013, Oscar Ledesma received the Emscher Bridges prize.
As a gallery owner and curator, Oscar has organized more than 20 exhibitions with over 30 different artists. He also writes articles on literature and art for several Latin American art magazines. Read Less
