My passion for photography came from grandfather when I was a young lad. Being retired, and me having the summers off from, I would expect a call from him to spend sometime together for the day. A normal day would consist of a drive to wherever, to find a good coffee shop and stopping everywhere in-between to take a picture, or play golf. After his passing in 2000, I acquired his camera gear, and enrolled into a photography class during my last year in High School. Learning composition, reading light, and developing the film in a darkroom. After High School I joined the Maine Army National Guard as an Engineer (where I still serve today), and enrolled into the University of New Hampshire for Survey and Mapping. I worked for my uncle for 12 years as a land surveyor. During this time (work and Life), I slowly lost touch with photography, until I had an opportunity in 2010 to be a Unit Public Affairs Representative for the National Guard, this brought back that spark for photography. With not practicing photography for almost ten years, I had to re-teach myself, especially now with the digital age. So here I am now, re-enrolled in college at the University of Southern Maine in their Media Studies program, in hopes to continue my love for photography in a more professional setting. While enrolled at USM I have also found a new love... Cinematography. I'm excited about the future and where it will take me. My goal is to live my life to the fullest, and continue to do what I love. If I inspire one person with my work, I have done my job.
