I only have a vague idea what I want my finished work to look like, really what happens is the process dictates the outcome. The work creates itself, and exist because I created it. Using multiples like legos to piece together a larger picture.
I piece together these things that in a way build themselves, im just a tool used to create and put pieces of these things together. using paper as my main media I cut up prints drawings and paintings and collage them back together, or keep them separate, I love the idea of something only being held together by connections, a network that can grow, and sometimes falls apart destroying itself.
Also escaping the frame that we are so attracted to is a major issue I deal with. we see the world in frames, they are all around us. Constraining rectangles that may hold together things but at the same time are restraints. I try to take things out of the rectangle, but I like seeing the remains of what once was the frame, or edge of something. showing evidence of the escape from the cage Read Less

I mainly work with print making, paper making, drawing, and sometimes painting. I don't just do any of these by themselves though, for me everything becomes mixed media eventually in one way or another. Print collages made from cut up prints and scrap books made from the cut and ripped up scraps leftover from these prints is what some of my work is. While other focuses on installation, but I go about the same intuitive process it is just in a larger scale and instead of just the work i'm creating dictating how I make it, the space I make it in also influences decision making.
