Glyn has been creating photographic images since 16 years of age. At 18 he completed a one year Arts Foundation Course, at the Falmouth School of Art in Cornwall and following that, an Honours Degree in Photography, Film and Television at Harrow in London. On graduating in 1987, he became a full time professional photographer and photographic artist. Glyn has held many exhibitions in North and South Wales, Cornwall, Cheshire and London. He appears regularly on TV and Radio and has been interviewed by numerous magazines and publications over the years. He taught photography, part-time, at the University of Wales for almost fourteen years.
In 2002 he established his first photographic art gallery, in Menai Bridge on the Isle of Anglesey, Wales. In 2005 he moved to much bigger premises in the same town. In the ten years since establishing a gallery, he has gradually reduced the amount of commissioned work he takes on, to concentrate on what has always been his first love sine he shot his first images as a teenager in Cornwall, landscape. 95% of Glyn's Ltd Company turnover, is now sales of photographic art landscapes.
He has now published four books of his work, the latest being "Welsh Light" and this was preceded by "Nant Gwrtheyrn - Y Swyngyfaredd (The Enchantment)" which was launched at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff.
His first two books, "Anglesey Landscapes / Tirluniau Môn" Vol 1 & 2, were bought by the British Prime Minister, David Cameron, in April 2011 as a wedding present for the Royal Couple, Prince William and Catherine Middleton. The PM wrote to Glyn to say that "Prince William was delighted with the books"
In June 2011 Glyn staged a major solo exhibition of his work at the AOP Gallery in Shoreditch, London.
He was ranked No.1 in the World, for 4 years, on the international image showcase, OneEyeland.
His images are purchased for investment as well as display, as a result of almost three decades working as a professional, published photo artist. His prints are held in many public and private collections and have been acquired by several large corporations and institutions such as the BBC; University of Wales; Williamson Art Gallery (Birkenhead), Oriel Ynys Môn Gallery; North Wales Fire Service and the Management Development Centre, Bangor. He has customers from Australia to the USA. Read Less
