As an exercise in the art of precision in typography, students chose a typeface and subsequently analyzed, studied, emulated and finally experimented with throughout the duration of a semester. Specimens from old typography specification books were mastered, rags and justifications perfected and pieces from masters such as Wolfgang Weingart were emulated to achieve a better understanding of the attention to detail necessary when dealing with type.
