RAIN & RESERVOIRS
REPLENISHING OUR RESERVOIRS
Snow pack and rain combined to supply a rich resource of water for us to harness in our many reservoirs. these reservoirs are constantly being naturally replenished to store this energy source for when we need it most.

GENERATION
GENERATING CLEAN ENERGY
The water is stored behind a dam wall. Gates open and close regulating the water flow through the penstocks when the huge pipes that funnel water through the turbines. This forces the turbines to spin, when enables the generators to create clean electricity as we need it without unnecessary wastes.

TRANSPORTING OUR POWER
Voltage is now increasing to up to 500,000 volts to avoid energy waste as it travels across the grid. This transmission grid acts as a super efficient electricity highway, which transports power over mountains and valleys to supply energy to our communities

SHARING OUR ENERGY
Voltage is reduced to substations for business and residential use, then shared throughout distibution lines. Our repair team are constantly battling wind, snow and falling trees to keep the lines up and the power flowing.

MEASURING OUR ENERGY USAGE
Today, electricity flows through analog meters and is read manually to generate a bill. With the introduction of new smart meters, we will be connected directly to the grid. We will have faster outage restoration, bills will no longer be estimated, and we'll have choice and control over our electricity consumption.
