I am a vessel, a container and a reservoir.

My body is packaging for unwanted chemicals.

 

I took a blood test and had it analyzed for perfluorinated compounds. A highly toxic and persistent group of chemicals that we use in materials like Gore-Tex and Teflon, carpets and furniture, but also as a water and fat repellent in different kinds of paper packaging material . They have been around me all my life, and still are. They are stored in my liver, maybe for rest of my life.

 

We know too little about these chemicals to use them as recklessly as we are. They are known to cause liver disease, cancer and physical development delays, amongst other things. 

To spread the word about perfluorinated compounds I funded and printed a newspaper-like magazine and showcased my project at a exhibition.
