Legend* has it that the mythical Phoenix sought out sticks of cinnamon to build its nest. This
concept is carried through in the product packaging and label. Cinammon sticks are fed through
the baby bird’s mouth, which functions as an electric grinder. The ground cinnamon falls out of
the wing tips,
simulating ash from the Phoenix’s rebirth.

*The Legend

When it has lived 500 years, the Phoenix builds itself nest
in the branches of an oak, or on the top of palmtree.
In this is collects Cinnamon, and spikenard and myrrh,
and of these materials builds a pile on which it deposits itself,
and dying, breathes out its last breadth amidst odors.

From the body of the parent, a young Phoenix comes forth,
destined to live as long a life as its predecessor.
When this has grown up and gained sufficient strength,
it lifts its nest from the tree, and carries it to the city
of Heliopolis in Egypt, and deposits it in the temple of the Sun.
