This is a series of literature reading guides for University and High School level students. The books are intended to support the reading of Portuguese literature masterpieces whose authors are true icons of the Portuguese culture. Picking up on this notion of icon, the design approach was to literally "create the author's face on the cover of the book", thus transforming covers into faces and faces into covers. As if instead of having a series of books we actually have a family of illustrious authors portrayed in a very pictographic style. A photographic portrait of each author is printed on the back cover confirming the identification depicted in front of the book.This playful approach was deemed appropriate since it is designed to captivate a younger audience.

This project received the "50 Books /50 Covers" 2011 Award.
