Hydroelectric Power Exhibit

Hydroelectric Power Exhibit
Pennypickle's Workshop, Temecula, California
This exhibit is part of others I created for The Temecula Children's Museum (Pennypickle's Workshop). The museum is made to look like a "mad scientist" lives and works here, so every room in the Professor's house is stocked with crazy inventions, some half built, etc.  This particular one is in the "bathroom" of the house, and is meant to give kids a chance to understand how hydroelectricity is produce.

Here, an Archimedes screw pump design helps move glow in the dark ping pong balls up the screw, then through a turbine that triggers an electrical storm of light flashes mixed with electrical discharge and thunder sounds. The black light in the room makes everything extra creepy.  More pictures at my website.
