Objective of the project is to develop a text font for usage in books layout. Consize and readable.
Book tradition began with the Old Style Antiqua, fonts of this type provide comfortable reading due
to low contrast and open form of signs. As a basis of my project I took a Venetian serif, which signs’ forms are influenced by Gothic. As a result — Hernan font appeared. It has two typefaces: Regular — for a set of basic texts and Bold — bold typeface, that perfectly serves not only to highlight words
in text, but also as a display.
Features of Hernan text font: tilt axes circular elements 30°, massive resection, compensators in bold typeface, tough and austere shape of letters, that, nevertheless, makes a friendly impression in text.
