Edible Art
I was recently commissioned to create a piece of edible art to celebrate Griffith University turning 40. The project paired 10 chefs with 10 Griffith University students and I was paired with the wonderful Brett McAuliffe who is a pastry chef, so a cake was the obvious choice. I made all of the decorative pieces out of coloured and rolled strips of gum paste and cut the typography from gum paste rolled flat. I’ve never eaten one of my tactile typography pieces before, so it was a lot of fun and was very popular with the children who attended the event. We all enjoyed turning our tongues blue.
