Description:
The Bar Sabaquatico barstool design was a project I did as a student at the University of Johannesburg and included conceptual work, a manufactured full scale prototype, prototype photography and engineering for manufacture.
The entire prototype was manufactured using recycled materials except for the leather look cloth used to cover the seat foam.
The seat base was made from layered recycled MDF board, the legs where made from recycled SA pine wood shelving board and the metal ring came from a truck scrapyard (it was a different shape and took almost a day to bend it into a perfect polished ring by hand)
