We designed artwork for the new release from The Bedroom Community.
The music is by groundbreaking Icelandic composer Valgeir Sigurdsson, founder of the Bedroom Community record label as well as Iceland's top recording facility Greenhouse Studios, with contributions by New York-based composer Nico Muhly. Sigurdsson, Nadia Sirota and rShahzad Ismaily perform the score live.
The album title puzzled us: how can we interpret such an abstract idea visually? After some sketching we came up with a solution to represent Architecture of Loss literally.
We encoded the audio tracks to mp3 format in lowest possible quality. Then we extracted & manipulated the data to create ASCII illustrations & related typography.
The album came out in CD, Vinyl and digtal formats, the latter features a digital booklet with illustrations representing every track.
