Why graffiti concept?
Chicago is a city known for many things, sports, pizza, and a steep political climate to name a few. It is also a home to some of the most renowned exhibits of artwork. With over a dozen different art museums, the city definitely shows its appreciation for expression. However, there is one form of art that has been neglected until recently: graffiti.
Graffiti can be defined as “usually unauthorized writing or drawing on a public surface,” according to Webster’s dictionary. Often times, graffiti can be associated with gang affiliation, and while gang markings still litter the alleys of Chicago, graffiti has earned recognition as being a form of modern art amongst the public eye.
