Urban Forest Project Banner

Lightpole banner for Baltimore's installment of The Urban Forest Project – 2008
Mr. Boh and Sally Utz sitting in a tree... The Urban Forest Project is a series of unprecedented outdoor exhibitions taking root in cities around the world. This unique environmental, public arts, and educational initiative calls on artists, designers and students in each city to employ the idea or form of the tree to make a powerful visual statement on banners that are displayed throughout the community.

When tackling my Urban Forest Project banner, I thought what could be more fitting than illustrating Natty Boh and the Utz girl sitting in a tree hand in hand? That's right... you better believe! For the duration of the 11-week project, my banner was displayed in the Pigtown neighborhood of Baltimore, hanging from a lamp post on Washington Blvd.
