Anatomy of a Mushroom Cloud

This is a left spread from the National Security Science publication from Los Alamos National Laboratory. This graphic goes through a historical analysis of the parts of a mushroom cloud. The purpose is to show 5000+ target audience that includes scientists and policy makers the different types of explosions throughout history. These photos and and facts depict an era that era of nuclear testing that is no longer necessary with the science done at Los Alamos National Laboratory through super computing and non-nuclear experiments.

Adobe Photoshop was used to expand and mask the photos to Creating  in a circular pattern organized within Adobe Illustrator, which was then linked to an InDesign file for the publication. The design required understanding of the grid system tools in Adobe, photoshop Content Fill, masking tools and cropping, and InDesign Layout.
