PPE Assembly Instructions
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I redesigned 3DCrowd UK's PPE assembly instructions to make them easier to digest at first glance, clearer to understand and easy to follow.
3DCrowd UK is a community of volunteers supplying the health sector with 3D printed PPE during the COVID-19 pandemic. They use instructional information to communicate with PPE end-users in the health sector.
Having the experience of assembling a PPE kit myself and considering the range of potential end-users (volunteers working across sectors), I reviewed the instructions: analysed the task, edited the original text into a hierarchically-organised sequence of steps, and reorganised the images to make it visually informative.
I also redesigned the way the regulatory text was presented, ensuring that critical information was highlighted and, whenever needed, repeated at the beginning of the instructions.
