This re-brand of the Sheffield Sharks basketball team was a fictional brief created by myself so that I could expand my skills in other areas of brand design. I used to be a big fan of this team and always wondered why their logo never included a graphic of the animal their team was named after. So out of genuine interest I decided to try and create something that I felt may be more appealing to both the team and the fans.
After creating the logo I still feel it could be tweaked to make it once again look more appealing. As my skills increase I may re-attempt to design this logo. In my research I noticed that most successful sports brand have 3 versions of the logo so that it can be used in different situations. I already feel I have the foundations to work on this having both the starts of a wordmark and a strong graphic. I feel all that remains is an abstract version of the logo and once I have advance with new skills I would very much like to do this project again.
