The website design for Korman Fine Jewelry aims to convey the kind of elegance and moderation expected of a fine jewelry establishment. The owner, however, wanted to introduce a celebration theme. To that end, we explored several options until deciding for the somewhat subdued, but clearly gold confetti. e-Commerce Development for Jewelry Store
The Korman Fine Jewelry website is built on the BigCommerce online store platform, using the Shogun page builder on the Home page.
Home Page
The home page (full image below) for Korman is a combination of Shogun page builder and the usual home page content of a BigCommerce store. I achieved this by creating a custom page template for a regular “Web page” in BigCommerce.
This template has the ability to manage New Products, Featured products, and blog posts just like the original home page (although only Featured Products are currently used).
The top of the page, however, has the usual content area that Shogun uses to create a page. Of course, I had to suppress the breadcrumbs, page title, and adjust some of the page’s CSS.
With this technical solution, I enabled two sliders: One for desktop and tablets, another one for mobile. This was done in order to best comply with one of the vendors’ requirement as to how to show their slides.
While this could all have been coded directly on the theme (and originally some of it was), this improvement now allows the client to quickly and easily update the custom sliders, the seasonal messages, as well as any other element of the page content area.

Brand Pages
26 custom Brand pages, one for each of the current brands, allow Korman to show more personalized content for each of the brands they represent, or in the case of their two top-tier watch brands, use their custom provided embeddable content.
Product Pages
The product page offers a minimalist, conversion optimized layout, where the product photography rules, and the call to action is both bold and elegant.
Other Features
A persistent Instagram stream at the footer helps keep the content fresh, and see these luxury pieces in context (uses Lightwidget)
