ARCHITECTURE MAGAZINE CONCEPT

Arkitekt is a fictional high-end magazine about architectural design. The target audience are students, professionals, and amateurs who appreciate design. The readers are both male and female and appreciate crisp aesthetics.

The design of the logo is heavily influenced by the exterior of the Bauhaus building in Dessau, which had a significant impact on architecture and art. For many, it's a symbol of aesthetics meeting function, which is an important aspect of architecture.

Each cover design features tightly cropped photos buildings with rich textures and colours. The patterns and lines of the designs of these buildings provide movement to the viewer, encouraging them to open the magazine and continue this movement. The front cover only features the current issue number to keep the focus on the imagery, as the audience is very visually driven and any text would crowd the featured photo.

The layout design of the articles inside of the magazine feature a similar aesthetic. There are many photos featuring details of buildings, paired with colour and shapes to lead the eyes of the viewer. Many of the design features are geometric and minimal, resembling the lines and shapes taken from modern architectural designs.
Example of a two-page spread, featuring very colorful text treatment to match the theme of the body copy.
