Commercial Photography: Platinum Hair Lounge
These photos were taken for Platinum Hair Lounge;s social media marketing. I took these using the lighting in the salon to reduce the amount of space I'd need (because they were taken during open hours). This also played a key role in the lack of props - anything too large would take up too much of the space needed for their clients. This also helps give the photos a familiar feeling. The lighting and props are all things that will be experienced when a client visits their studio.
Exploring angles and various points of view was key at taking photos of the Salon to keep a clean image (no distractions seen in the mirror, isolating areas of the salon vs wide shots).
Dramatic lighting was achieved by locating the light and setting up my shots around the pre-existing lighting and shooting from the right angle. This contrasts a studio photography process, where you set up your lights as you please.
