Native App Pattern Library

Native App Pattern Library
Native App Pattern Library is a reference guide/tool for both designers and developers. The library is a collection of components that are built using atomic design principles. The reusability of the components will help reduce developers’ coding time and increase designers’ productivity.

I am UX lead for the Pattern Library creation. My responsibilities include facilitating design workshops, allocating team resources, and managing communications between designers and developers. I collaborated with the in-house design studio, outside agency designers, and app developers to complete the work.

Currently, there are more than 100 reusable elements/components are completed/coded in the library. Below are the examples from the library for atom, molecules and organism - the button (atom) and hero image (molecules) formed a trip card (organism).

Light and Dark mode

Besides setting standards for all components in the pattern library. I also did color study on 30 brands colors against light and dark mode for Marriott Bonvoy app. I worked with app developers to define the color roles (design tokens) for colors on text, buttons, backgrounds and icons for all 30 brands.
