The idea for the compositing came up with the question, how much we are without the applause of others. However, that may be different to anyone, but sure there's no star without an audience. The background is made from a single shot of just one side. Later it has been extended to create a runway (by duplicating and flipping horizontally). Unless it's a fashion shot, the girl doesn't wear any clothes to highlight the nudity you feel without any external feedback.
