Invisible Symptoms | Science Project

I had the chance to design a science exhibit. I chose Fibromyalgia, a chronic widespread disease as my topic. This topic is personal to me because my mother has it and it has truly changed the way my family and I live. Not a ton of people know what Fibromyalgia is so, I broke down the disease and explained the diagnostic process, how it affects your body and ways to help treat it. Using color contrast, illustrations and hierarchy to help.
As a second piece, I designed a booklet to provide information to people who are first diagnosed. This book breaks down first thoughts, doctor choices, exercise tips and more. I carried over the color palette, typeface and hierarchy. A person first being diagnosed already has their mind racing with questions so I aimed to make this book bold, clean and easy to understand. I provided quotes directly from my mom to show that other did feel the same way and that there is a huge supporting community out there.
