Tharrett-Uong Master Bathroom

A modern space just large enough for the essentials.
The homeowners, both of whom are architects simply wanted to eliminate their inadequate, small and dated bathroom and replace it with an effective modern design to suit their lifestyle. Their intentions were clear, modern style, quality craftsmanship, and keep with their low budget. The bathroom was able to take over a small closet that was in the existing bathroom which allowed for the larger, barrier free shower to work. I cut the 12"x12" black slate into 4"x12" to avoid the cost of a custom product. Although the project was simple, that didn't make things easy. The floor for the barrier-free shower had to have the proper pitch and also allow for a piece of u-channel to accept the tempered glass wall. The door and window jambs were without casing and it was pre-finished bamboo plywood that had to project beyond drywall and tile seemlessly. The cantilevered vanity and medicine cabinets all had to appear as if they were grew from the wall. After all of the work put into the smallest of details and upon the completion of the job, there was no other way it could have been done.
