THE DEAL

Conceptualise and design a brand logo & identity design for an architectural firm - CORE Architecture & Project Management. The client provided complete creative freedom to create an identity that best reflected their brand value and services.

Let's get to the core of it, shall we?
THE DOPE

The literal meaning of the word CORE, is a part of something that is central to its existence. In this case the predecided brand name while simple perfectly symbolises two aspects of the firm. Firstly, architectural services are the foundation for any well designed structure and secondly, at its core is the usage of all three elements found in nature - Environment, Humans and Water resources.

Aren't we are all interlinked at our core?

Now how best can we showcase this concept in a form that is minimalist yet meaningful? During the brain storming process, we discovered the divine usage of geometrical shapes within nature itself. Of all the shapes, the circle stood out the most due to its symbolic connection with the earth. Anyone who has studied geology in kindergarten would remember the multiple circular layers that form the core of earth.

Pun, intended.

While the top layer is made up of a combination of our three elements, the circle in itself is a universal symbol with metaphorical representations of unity, infinity, timelessness and inclusivity.

The circle of trust? Why not?

We designed the brand logo using three entwining semi-circles merging at the center to form an abstract circle. The semi-circles symbolised each of the three elements in their respective natural colors.

We opted in for a minimalist sans serif typeface to balance the new symbol. While playing around with alignments, we decided to replace the letter 'O' with the abstract O of our newly designed symbol unifying them both.

The geometrical balance represented by the three elements and typography, formed a perfect harmonious shape that fit the brand philosophy behind the firm.

We didn't have to go hardcore, did we?
