A chair as an object and a symbol of unlimited freedom and self-expression...
The main idea of my design is freedom. One of the sides of Freedom is the impossibility of the existence of only one correct point of view. Therefore, free design is a design based on chaos and incompleteness, which the creator cannot finalize alone, but only gives the language for self-expression of his own idea to the final consumer, makes him think and fantasize.
The object is completely custom, handcrafted, by request. The concept allows you to change the shape of the legs, change their number, the shape of the seat, to make it soft, the shape of the armrests, backrests, connections, to choose any color or texture for each separate part of the object. Or to choose nothing. Considering the variability of the proposed components, you can create about a hundred individual objects, considering the options for execution in wood or enamel - the number of unique objects multiply increases.
The first series of objects are dedicated to the centenary of Bauhaus. The first sentence of the Bauhaus Manifesto, written by Walter Gropius, was: "The highest goal of all existing arts is a building." The Chair Abstract is designed by an architect, like a building. It has an ensemble and symmetry, tectonics and the construction work, the inseparable link between the functional parts, form and color. I used thinner designs to show the work of modern materials, the link between tradition and modernity. The composition is based on simple forms - point, line, circle, square and triangle. I also modified the classic Bauhaus color scheme, highlighting the shades so that the form began to resemble a virtual object, the work of a modern 3D sculptor created from real materials.
Design is a challenge to myself - to create from 4 to 20 new models of the Abstract chair every year. Objects should be a reflection of time: symbol of events of history, people who influenced the author or influenced the object itself. I think this project can become a new look at modern collectible design, and the chair can become the most massive series of modifications of a single item produced in limited edition.
Use basic geometric elements to create details of the object
The dot, line, triangle, sqare and circle
Combine simple elements and architectural constructions to get a diverse symbolic language of forms
It becomes a semblance of language when any part of the form becomes interchangeable
all parts of the form are interchangeable - side and rear legs, armrests, backrest, seat
Add color and material expression to the form, allowing you to create even more unique images
Any part of the chair can be made of diferent wood or painted in its own color
Serial or unique. Customisation method
Abstract 104 model made of pure wood covered with oil & Black or Red chairs painted with water-based paint
Models with painted top of the backrest

Each chair has name of serie Abstract number of individual model form 104 color scheme name like PS (Paul Smith) and edition 1\12. Every individual chair has limited edition. But the method gives an infinite number of options by which an individual object can be constructed. Including total modification of object.
