2017 | Padiglione per eventi ad Alleghe

Kind: architecture, public spaces

Place: Alleghe (BL)

Year: 2017

The small pavilion for outdoor events is located in the center of Alleghe, a village over the slope of the amazing north-west wall of Monte Civetta, on the lawn covering surface of a large underground parking lot.
The space is directly accessible from the historical center, but despite the central location and the beautiful view on the lake and the surrounding mountains, it has remained unused until now.
We decided to place the pavilion on the edge of this space, where the flat roof of the underground car park intersects the slope, in order to avoid the obstruction to the view of the lake which can be enjoyed from the center of the village. The roof of the pavilion was designed to ideally continue the trend of this slope. The plan, an irregular pentagon shape, arises from a dual scenic and acoustic need. In this way the stage opens to the audience and, in a wider sense, towards the center of the town of Alleghe.
The structure, with the exception of the concrete foundation on which it rests and which acts as a stage, is entirely dry, with a wooden frame and an internal wooden cladding and an external metal sheet cladding, perforated on the vertical parts.
