About Chinese hip-hop
Hip-hop has grown to become one of the mainstream music genres around the world after many years of popularization and evolution. Particularly, hip-hop was originally a kind of underground music genre in China, that gradually surfaced within the mainstream market later. It then garnered the recognition and support of more Chinese youths, and attracted them to become a part of it.

About M.O.S.S & Odyssey
We designed the main visual for the debut album "Odyssey" by the young Chinese band M.O.S.S. M.O.S.S is influenced by Trap and Vaporware, and has a rich retro and futuristic style in terms of its musical content. The theme for Odyssey was developed around the idea of a journey to leave the earth, a bird's-eye view exploring the visions that young people today have towards real life, culture, the environment, and the future.

In terms of the main visual, we referred heavily to the style of Vaporware, and took the Chinese name for "Odyssey"—"默示號"—for the design of the main visual. We incorporated the image of an inverted triangle and alternating stripes into the design of the graphic text to generate a retro and futuristic visual style. For the background, we designed the visual of a spaceship leaving the earth, and the image of the spaceship looking back at the earth, as a way of responding to the concept of the album. We introduced neon lights and light bulbs for the design of the exterior of the spaceship, referencing science fiction movies from the 1980's and paying homage to their imaginations of the future.
