Pinvita is a large Chinese brand producing and implementing designer dishes, kitchen appliances and accessories. In 2016, the company decided to produce its kitchen appliances, including gas cooktops. Within this project, the design of the first collection of Pinvita built-in gas cooktops was developed.
A platform is the main element of the gas cooktop. It is an invisible structure located under the tabletop in the kitchen. The projected model range uses three different platforms with different functional characteristics and cost.
The objective of this project was to create three types of gas cooktop external design with a visual correspondence to the price segmentation of these platforms.
The design process took into account aesthetic preferences of consumers of different gas cooktops price categories, their lifestyle and cooking culture. A marketing study was also prepared, comparing the existing analogues, evaluating its advantages and disadvantages.
The design was developed within a month, following the concept modifications aimed to achieve feasibility and reduce production costs.
As a result, five months after the project started, the gas cooktops acquired the final appearance, grounded in ease of use, marketing strategy, production capabilities and aesthetic trends of the local market.
The economy class gas cooktop is the cheapest in the range and therefore the simplest in production: it uses budgetary non-removable burners, plastic gas adjustment knobs, as well as simple steel supports. At the same time, the created design provides an image of a simple but reliable and durable kitchen appliance with a pleasant appearance and quality assembly.
The middle-class cooktop is more expensive and more powerful. Removable burners are equipped with cast iron supports, and gas adjustment knobs have an unstainable shape and a comfortable rubberized coating. The design of the cooktop is laconic and balanced, and its style and emotional content reflects the preferences of middle-class consumers and harmoniously blends with almost any interior of the kitchen.
The design is adapted for use with glass and stainless steel surfaces.
The premium class cooktop is the most powerful in the range. It is based on a platform with advanced technology and functionality. The faceted shaping of the cooktop outer elements accentuates its superior quality and assembly accuracy.
One of the design elements is the internal slope along the perimeter of the supports, which gives a feeling of lightness and levitation of the whole group of elements around the burners.
The collection of cooktops has been produced since the spring of 2017. On the market, these plates are presented in the branded network of Pinvita shops. The design project is owned by CBD-Group.
