Orangutans and Humans share 97% of their DNA.

Yet, we have brought our 2nd closest living relative on Earth to the brink of extinction, by destroying their habitats, and killing and capturing countless individuals.

The three living species of Orangutans are found only on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra in South-East Asia, and their numbers are declining rapidly.

These photos show the magnificent Sumatran Orangutan, found only in Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra. The total population is less than 7.000 individuals, and has declined by 80% over the last 75 years.

Take a closer look at these fellow inhabitants of our planet, look them in the eyes...

Then go and do something to save them, before they are gone forever!

A GOOD PLACE TO START IS AVOIDING ANY
FOOD AND PRODUCTS CONTAINING PALM-OIL
