Masterplan with the new roads and bridge
- The bridge as a new symbol / icon / gateway to the city. The announcement clearly outlines the most important aspect of the competition; however, how can you satisfy those characteristics respecting the budget and not altering the views of the historic city? It seems clear to us that we will have to deal with the theme with structures that do not develop in height, blocking the view from below of the city.
Urban" Piazza system reaction vs. "Natural" square. The new natural system can have the same size and the same circularity- Interesting observing from the bridges and 'how there is a visual / urban disconnect between the city, which degrandando towards the Piave stops in via Buzzati, and the river. A gray area, not "drawn" and not "thought", I think left as a free zone in case of flooding of the river.That the bridge / structure should mend and fill this void?- The new circulation aims to fluidify and eliminate the problems of the existing, in particular, the intersection between via Col di Cavalier and Via Monte Grappa. The roundabout is moved and enlarged, the problematic intersection between the two roads is removed. This is to facilitate the flows in and out of the new bridge, while the local movement traffic will have to be extended by 200 meters, with a benefit for all. Thus, pedestrian crossings will also be safer and more visible. Part of the reorganization will also be via Marcello Miari and access to the Ponte della Vittoria. In fact, these streets will also be part of the new roundabout and eliminating the traffic light on the curve of via Miari.- The existing road / embankment will be converted for pedestrians and bicycles, creating one side of the new Piazza Naturale system. existing embankments to be remodeled.
