In addition to reconstruction, the 1960s also shaped a new attitude towards life in Germany. Enthusiastic about jazz from New Orleans, five young people founded the “Odd fish Jazz Babies” in Uelzen in 1957 and played all over Lower Saxony until 1965: Klas Tilly (trombone), Uwe Sebecke (bass), Uwe Schmidt (banjo), Hans Dieter Schimpf (drums ), Jens Schlockermann (clarinet).
