This is a personal work I did for the purpose of practicing my Sound Design skills.
While searching for short soundless animations I found "Kapotojas" and I thought it was a good opportunity for me to create, for the first time, the sound of an explosion (which I found very challenging to do).

The author of the animation is Jurgis Tamulis.
The creative process
1st. Record sounds for the "ax" movement with my Rode NT5. I used a metal plate to create the sound I wanted by bowing it.
2nd. Search for birds and footsteps sounds in the Sound Bible FX (by Ric Viers).
3rd. The BIG challenge: the creation of the explosion. For this I used Logic Pro 9 ES2 synthesizer to create "white noise", which was then edited to create the sound of the explosion.
