Insights & Research
The kitchen tap provides the primary source of running water in the home. Users interact less with washing smaller items and are more likely to wash larger items not suitable for the dishwasher.
Understanding user behaviours enabled us to define core features to improve usage within the daily workflow.
Concept Development
We explored a variety of directions through rapid sketch iterations and refined ideas in 3D to validate basic construction and proportions.
Prototype and Refinement
We de-constructed existing taps to understand core components and the space required to offer maximum performance. 3D printed concepts allowed us to quickly validate scale and proportion.
Design Proposal
The range includes 4 taps in 2 different finishes (chrome and brushed steel). A consistent language has been maintained across the range which provides easy to clean surfaces and junctions.
Performance - Water Saving
Each tap adopts an innovative aerator which restricts water flow to use less water, without compromising on performance.
Pull Out Spray Head
The pull out hose can be manipulated to make it easier to wash larger items. The spray head adopts a ball joint construction allowing for effortless movement.
Quality
PVD finishing and resistant materials offer durability to maximise the products lifespan.
Design for Manufacture
We worked closely with a tap manufacturer to define the internal construction whilst maintaining optimum performance and a consistent design language.
