Los objetos del mobiliario doméstico son compañeros de existencia, son testigos mudos de las rutinas que se tejen día a día en el interior de una vivienda. De todo el equipamiento del hogar se destacan los muebles, por su función vital en las prácticas sociales. Desde un punto de vista emocional, podríamos afirmar que con el confort y el esparcimiento que nos ofrecen, tratamos de alivianar el peso de la monotonía, el tedio y el desgaste que implican las costumbres de la vida cotidiana. En esta propuesta se ahonda en el caso de un hogar geriátrico donde solo se cuenta con un mueble a manera de sala y espacio de distracción; donde todos los habitantes tienen que ver con él a distintas horas del día pasando por la señora que reza el rosario, hasta el señor que se fuma un cigarro antes de irse a dormir. Todo captado desde el dibujo que sirve a manera de persiana americana, como un portal entre ese pequeño mundo del asilo y el afuera de los espectadores. El mueble se convierte en una manera de escapar por unos momentos del agobio que produce el encierro, como una búsqueda de sosiego aunque sea por unos instantes; por eso cobra un valor afectivo, de complicidad, se convierte en una presencia que se nutre por el contacto de sus propietarios y que nos cuenta historias de esos seres anónimos.

The objects of domestic furniture are companions of existence, they are silent witnesses of the routines that are woven day by day inside a house. Of all the equipment in the home, furniture stands out for its vital function in social practices. From an emotional point of view, we could affirm that with the comfort and leisure that they offer us, we try to alleviate the weight of the monotony, boredom and wear that the customs of everyday life imply. This proposal delves into the case of a geriatric home where there is only one piece of furniture as a living room and a distraction space; where all the inhabitants have to do with him at different times of the day going through the lady who prays the rosary, to the man who smokes a cigar before going to sleep. Everything captured from the drawing that serves as an American blind, as a portal between that small world of asylum and outside the spectators. The furniture becomes a way of escaping for a few moments from the burden caused by the confinement, as a search for calm even for a few moments; That is why it charges an affective value, of complicity, it becomes a presence that is nourished by the contact of its owners and that tells us stories of those anonymous beings.
