SKEUOMORPHIC DISCLOSURE:
The Designer is not mightier than The Client. That is all.

College Foodz

College Foodz is an app that I was contracted to design late in 2012 and completed in 2013. The function of the app was to provide local restaurants the opportunity to supply time and location based coupons for the purpose of driving traffic, primarily around college campuses.

As is shown in the following graphics the app itself was designed with a skeuomorphic, hand-drawn style by the request of the project proprieter. I alone was cheifly responsible for all of the app graphics. Myself and the two project developers were responsible for the UX/UI layout. Most of the elements of the app were hand drawn by myself or purchased textures that were then hand sketched over to give a hand-drawn feel.

The app is currently still in development. Graphics work from myself has concluded.
The beginning of phase 1: logo design. This would hopefully establish the look for the remainder of the app as well as provide insights into the personal taste of the client. Obviously the final logo selected was #2-top left although my personal favorite was 1-center.
Time to sketch! App UI in early stages of development but thankfully the idea was successfully accepted by the client and a full re-design was not required. phew.

The concept behind the design was a large dining room table of some kind where the offers were the physical plates, napkins and other elements served as the various information and interactive pieces.

The settings and profile drawer were just that, a drawer that the user would pull down from the top of the screen to reveal various settings and deal sort options.
The following series of imagery is meant to convey the entire app experience from home screen to deal selection, to checkout.
App main screen. On app load the settings drawer animates down to let the user know that it's there, then quickly animates back up and out of the way.

The various plates show the offer restaurant, information on the deal and allows the user to favorite by tapping on the outer edge of the plate.

The user flicks upwards or downwards to scroll through the offers.
Once the user selects the deal they wish to claim, the screen animates right to, essentially, take them to the checkout counter.
The user then taps the "Press To Claim" text on the receipt signature line to claim the deal. Upon confirmation the drawer of the register shoots out to reveal claim details to be checked by the restaurant.
