I made this animation and scene for my mother.
The animation is something close to my heart. It has to do overall with losing a loved one. In particular my own loss of my mother very recently. The ocean representing a deep sea of unknown after such an event, not knowing what really to do or how to cope. The cave, with the pillars holding up the ceiling, representing how one would try to keep up appearances, and trying to retain some sort of normalcy after a loss. The birds are an analog to the people who have passed on. No longer tied or grounded to this world, free to move on. A new journey is just beginning for them, while you sit and watch from the ground, missing them, but knowing they'll be in better places.
