Butterfat Studios is the tattoo studio of acclaimed tattooist Esther Garcia. From 2012 until 2016, she ran a beautiful, plant-filled storefront in the heart of Logan Square, which I was thrilled to brand. Given the studio's strong focus on nature-inspired work, Esther wanted a tough, unexpected mark to stand as a counterpoint.
Butterfat hosted a series of dining and tattoo events under the name Buttercream, as well as a number of themed tattoo pop-ups and garden parties.
