LENTEN CURTAIN 2020
Site-specific lenten intervention called to sacral space of salesian church of st. John Bosco in Bratislava - Trnávka made by slovak visual artist Dorota Sadovská. This participative art piece is situated behind altar with tabernacle focused on its shape. Lenten curtain is connected with old tradition of covering altar pictures since middle-age.
According to positive experimental experience from Lenten curtain 2019 made by Klára Štefanovičová, authors decided to connect people from local catholic parish.

Through lenten period all official catholic services were canceled for COVID-19 pandemy. Lenten curtain have become silent witness of abandoned church. Here has appeared unexpected new meaning: official name "TO BE CLOSE" when people cannot be connected with sacraments and church services is existencial.
