I have worked out a good photogrammetry setup based on cross polarized lighting and finalized a proper workflow for optimizing the respective models (retopo, UVs, textures). This is a result I'm genuinely happy with in terms of model detail and quality of textures. Cross polarized lighting really helps keeping the diffuse texture maps flat. Apart from the scanned tea cup I also modeled the bamboo mat for these 3D renders.
