Play FLIP with Houdini 17.5
Compare with Realflow, I would like to say the flip solver(fluid simulation system) in Houdini is more stable and flexible solution for fluid effect simulation. Especially it can be interative with SOP to make some post effect in one 3D application.
Below are some of my rnd clips during this week, the node structure in Houdini can help a lot for you to setup your own "plugin".
The clip above I tried to transfer the color data from the fluid emitter source to the result vdb, then I can track the color data to render it out like some rainbow source.
These two low res clips above I want to keep the orignal position(rest position) data of the fluid emitter, that let me track such vector data to the end. By this way, I can keep it like UV and make the dynamic texture on the fluid. But actually I have set 2 different viscous attributes in it.
In the clip below, I try to interact the fluid data with the SOP outside to get the texture growing up.
All of above render by Octane. It is the best GPU unbias renderer which I used so far, especially for such transparent/refraction shader. And the AI denoise is quite powerful to make me leave it never.
THANKS FOR WATCHING!
